Week-End Maître D' / Front of House Staff

Job Description

We require a Maître D'/ Front of House staff to look after our customers at our tea rooms, and accommodation in Kew Gardens, part-time (week-ends). We are a very old-fashioned family business and we make and serve hand-made foods - quality, traditional English breakfasts, luncheons, and afternoons teas in our restaurant and also sell bakery goods, sweetmeats, confectionery and gifts etc in our shop.We are a small, independent and well-established, We are close to Kew Gardens tube station and the 65 and 391 bus routes.

We expect you will have some experience of working in a busy restaurant/retail environment but it is not essential - we are more interested in your personality, communication and customer service skills and we can teach you everything else you need to know to be a part of our hardworking team.

You must be able to read and speak and understand English really well. Staff are involved in all aspects of the day to day service at ‘front’ and ‘middle house’, ensuring customers receive the best possible service. Barista duties (we can give specialist training) and preparing food items, serving customers in both the restaurant and shop and helping out in all aspects of 'front of house' work and setting up the shop and restaurant at opening shift and clearing away at closing shift, managing check ins and outs of B&B guests and liaising with the senior/office management.

You will get lots of 'on the job' induction and training from the office and current members of staff (front of house, bakery and management) and also courses in things like Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, First Aid, Barista etc. The front of house staff team is established and organised with a good working atmosphere and environment with great rates of pay (ALL tips and gratuities are shared by the staff, not the company, and always have been), uniform, pension, interest-free staff loans and other benefits. Job prospects are very good for those who wish to advance their career into management.

Waiting Staff / Front of House Team- Weekends

Hours of work would be from 6 minimum up to 22 per week-end in shifts with the option of extra hours on weekdays and at other times/holidays etc. We are happy to adapt this to suit the right applicant(s).
